development. i warriors, i can understand how the port and city want to develop this pier because they've been trying to develop it. they voted in 1990 to develop the waterfront until there was a comprehensive waterfront [speaker not understood] to try to get the international [speaker not understood] cruise terminal built. [speaker not understood] the economy and the cost of updating the pier now the fiscal feasibility study which you supervisors have actually approved would cost the tax payers $120 million. there's also another thing that is really critical is the congestion. the super congestion in the area. luckily i live in this area because i wanted the multi ple transportation bay area options to me and i walk to bart every day. i don't have to drive a car. but there is a lot of small businesses that are in the live-work units, commuters, people who come and go. and i understand how this plan to have 600 additional parking spaces and 200 on the other lot will fit into the city's adopted congestion management program. that affects all the funding and so forth, so, thank you. >> thank you

minute. nearly two years, it was city's fleeing. now it is palestinians coming from the refugee camp where fighting has forced thousands of people to move. the refugees have no specific place to go to. this camp is one of three refugee camps where the palestinians coming from syria are being received. up to 550 families have arrived in the past few days. we had to go from house to house looking for them. most are staying with relatives. this person and his 12-member family. two of his daughters were awarded an attack in july. -- they were wounded in attack in july. >> we fled from our house as fast as we could, escaping through the window because the door was being hit by shells. i was worried for my children and women. there was constant shelling around us. that was the only way to save our lives. >> the u.n. agency responsible for helping the refugees is starting to distribute aid. but the u.n. and others will probably find it more difficult the psychological impact on these refugees. some volunteers are giving it a try. all refugees are vulnerable. this is their second exodus. fam

for hours for the chance to make that exchange in oakland and san francisco. the guns the city has collected will be cross referenced with a database to make sure they were not used in any crime. and then those guns will be melted down and turned into less deadly things like park benches and signposts. i bet if anybody needed plowshares, they could make those too. those weapons in california were collected by the police, but the buyback part was funded by nonprofit groups, including $100,000 donation from a guy who runs a medical marijuana dispensary. and apparently that's a good way to make a lot of money. in brooklyn, new york this weekend, people went to trade guns for debit cards at two different locations. the program was run by the police and the brooklyn district attorney's office. more than 130 guns were turned in in exchange for up to $200 a gun. in evanston, illinois, north of chicago, there was a gun buyback program this weekend at a church organize bade community activist whose son was shot and killed in evanston last month. the police collected 26 handguns, 15 rifles, four shotg

every 6th through 12th grader in san francisco city public schools will have had the opportunity to see bully and not only view that documentary but also go through a rich can urriculum from our teachers understanding the lessons from that movie. we all know a movie in and of itself doesn't make a difference, but i will tell you, we didn't start our approach to understanding it with the movie bully. we're very proud 234 san francisco that we have had an approach based on restoretive practices where we're not about suspending students and getting them out of school, we want them to understand what the impacts are and the impact it has. we've been a part of restoretive practices now for over 4 years in san francisco but when we heard about the movie bully, and bullying is a phenomenon we can all relate to. as i shared with the students yesterday at hertz theater, when i see the film i can relate to instances when i was bullied as a kid. when i reflect upon being a student in the public schools, i can think about situations where i was a bully, where i said things, where i did things, w
